We have incredibly exciting news to share with you today! At Mateina, we're about to change the game with the imminent launch of our very first sugar-free flavor. You might be wondering why sugar-free? Get ready, we'll tell you everything!
A few months ago, we received a call that turned everything upside down from the team behind one of the world's most listened-to podcasts. An opportunity that expanded our horizons and gave birth to an adventure far beyond our wildest dreams. We met new partners, people as passionate as us, ready to share our love for mate around the world. A partnership that would allow us to take our mission to another level, even to share Yerba Mate on a large scale!
We've always been proud of our authentic recipes, made with simple and true ingredients: organic Yerba Mate cultivated by a fourth-generation farming family, pure water, organic cane sugar, organic lemon juice, our secret spice, and lots of love. However, our new partners challenged us: create a sugar-free version that preserves all the authenticity of the mate's taste, and guess what, we dove headfirst into this mission.
Months of research and intense efforts were needed to develop THE recipe that would healthily revolutionize the sugar-free market. We wanted to avoid the unpleasant aftertastes of sweeteners, and after exploring various options (monk fruit, allulose, and stevia, without success), we made a game-changing discovery in a local market!
A special ingredient, hitherto underestimated, came and changed everything. Back to the lab ASAP, adjustments to our formula, and voila: a real revolution! This unique ingredient completely masked the undesirable aftertaste of sweeteners.
After hours of hard work and several flights between Vancouver and California, we're super excited to announce that we've successfully met the challenge! Our new flavor, created in collaboration with our new partner (whom we're super excited to reveal), is about to see the light of day. Very soon, you'll be able to savor the very first sugar-free version of Mateina.
